Vintage 1950's Japanese Tin Cash Register Bank in Box

$ 237.6

Description

This early 1950's Japanese bank is one of the better examples of over the top litho design. Besides the cash register buttons and the window that shows the cash totals, the surface is decorated with a riot of flowers, bugs, birds and butterflies. The back sports a large basket of flowers and each side shows a different scene of a child operating the bank...a boy on one side, a girl on the other.
A painted pink knob (some chips in the paint) on one side can be manually turned to change the number in the window that keeps track of deposits from 10 to 100. When you press the key on the front, the bottom drawer springs open so you can get the money. The cash register bank is 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) tall. The base is 3.75 inches (9.5 cm) wide and 4.25 inches (10.7 cm) deep.
The box's paper label top has some tears on the side edges (repaired with clear tape). The label showing a blond girl wearing an eyeshade while working the cash register is intact and wonderful. The toy is in very good to excellent unused condition with brilliant colors and a shiny surface.
